XGames, Shaun White wins again

Salomonder

When I saw the board about a month ago featured in some online forum, I thought to myself that the drawings were pretty weak but quickly I realized that it was very much like skateboarding (at least like Toy Machine) and because it is a rail board, It actually makes sense and in addition it is something different from other manufacturers.

I have been lucky enough to check out this board a week ago and actually the graphic looks much better in real than online. I felt I had a skateboard in my hands, you know ready to f&cking shred some kinky rails. With some new tech like Easy press core and no chip tip this board is ready to score.

-Expansion of their GMP regrind process across the entire line above the $160 price point.

-All new Freestyle and Citizen ‘One-Up’ series. These are in addition to our traditional Freestyle and Citizen, but are new convenience based one-strap models for easier entry and exit. They ride amazing in all types of conditions and cut your entry/exit time in half.

-From 50’s pulp art on the Malavita, to the scribbling from some drunken artist on the Cobrashark!, to the clean lines of the C02, each model takes on its own unique feel. In the women’s line it was no holds bar on the shelf appeal of this line

Noboarding

I never had the chance to try noboarding, but being a skater and surfer since 6 years old, to imagine the feeling of surfing on powder must be an incredible feeling.
Actually I had a dream about it last night so while this video is not a recent one it can give you an idea on how much fun it is on powder.

Bode Merrill

Bode Merrill has been nominated for both Rider of the Year and Best Video Part...Here is a quick look at his skills from the video Neverland:

Surfing in Japan...

With thousands of other japanese surfer in the Sagami Bay. That is the tale from one of my Floridian buddy who went there for the holidays.

I couldn't believe how many people were surfing such tiny waves. That would be the same crowd at Blacks or Sunset during a perfect 8 feet swell on a Sunday morning but I found the pictures funny enough that I thought I would show them.

Nidecker WTF?

So it seems that NDK is going to have a board featuring Pamela Anderson. For guys my age she used to mean something in the 90s but come on, we are in 2010, do you really think kids really care about Pamela Anderson, she is nothing iconic for this generation except maybe a lame porn video.

Some of the profits are going to go toward PETA, the largest animal rights organization in the world. Noble cause I have to admit, I love my dogs but the message doesn't seem to be coherent: a Swiss snowboard manufacturer / an ex whore-tv actress / Animal protection. Anyway NDK better to stick by making boards for pros who want to create their companies.

I wonder why they took some shots of her from the early 90s and not a recent one????

Absinthe Flipside episode

The behind-the-scenes series with Absinthe Films, chronicling the making of Neverland, continues with a force.

Mike V and the Brooklyn Banks

Short documentary about Mike Vallely's final trip to NYC to skate The Brooklyn Banks, as well as touches on Mike's history with the Banks. Shot in December of 2009 before the Banks were closed down... Watching the footage, I remember my brother watching those videos like Future Primitive and It is when I started skateboarding in 1986.

After K.Pearce's critical accident, it seems natural that riders are keeping their double cork weapon at ease. Nevertheless they are throwing big and the game is on.
