Ski goggles: Gucci WTF???
I think the main difference between ski and snowboard is that snowboarding is youth driven while ski has a bit of an elitist vibe (freeskiing is closer to snowboarding). So here is a simple example on how Safilo can sell the same goggles under two different brands: Carrera Chopper SPH that retails at $129 and the Gucci goggles retailing for $185.
At this price you can get some pretty sick goggles from VZ, Electric or Oakley..but goes to show you that Brand has a price and particularly in the States, it is more important than product performances.

IS eyewear...be a Transformer

IS eyewear is coming up with some sweet graphics for 09/10. For the one who don't know IS eyewear, it was created by Devun Walsh who used to be a member of one of the most influential team ever: Forum in the years 2000/2001 (remember the movie True Life).
Personally I don't really like their Transformer kindda of style, but it is a personal choice so others may like this odd look. Usually I would recommend to try goggles before buying a pair because fogging depends so much on how it fits on your face.
As a side note, I read several reviews from buyers that make me believe you can find other brands with better quality and longevity.

Exclusivo Collection 2009: Smith Optics
Smith Optics is well known in the industry for quality and performance on products such as sunglasses, goggles and helmets. With a lifetime warranty, Smith stands behind those to provide the best to snowboarders who want to push themselves.
However I will have to admit while their goggles have great features, they have been conservative on the fashion style. But this is coming to an end.
With all those fashion fickle snowboarders, Smith is coming up next season with some sick styles. Partnering with Cappel (ride snowboard), they have designed the Exclusivo Collection to provide the best style on their high performance goggles.
Furthermore, there are all kind of lenses you can choose from and for those who only go once a year, it can be confusing what lenses to pick. As a result Smith has designed a website that will help you select the right lenses, so go check it out:

It's all about Style: Anon
While most snowboard goggles brand are trying to compete with innovative lenses, Anon is pushing the style to new extreme.
They are using leather and different textiles on the frame to imitate zebra look and snake skin.
My wife has the Anon Majestic and they fit perfectly her little face, next winter you can bet I will get her the Anon Figment Zebra to add style to super comfortable goggles. She may not be the best in the snowpark but for sure she will have a unique style, and that is hot.
