Final Heat Kelly Vs Fanning

Hossegor is one of my favorite place to surf : super thick lips so that you have to be ultra committed.

Trestle Circus

Almost everytime I went to Trestles, there would be a full crew of pros/photographers in the water. Well that time of year, it is simply crazy and the whole WCT is back to So.Cal

Billabong Pipeline Masters 09

That's it, I would have liked to see Parko win a title but Mick Fanning decided otherwise and showed top performance since the last three events. So with Parko lost in R3, that lead to Mick being crowned at the 2009's WCT champ.

Want to see more pictures and stories about the Pipeline Masters, you can go check out Surfline

Here is a pretty cool sum up of some freaking Backdoor/Pipe waves:

Eddie Aikau 2009

Massive waves at “The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau, fueled by Monster Energy” brought out former contest winners Kelly Slater, Bruce Irons, Keone Downing, Ross Clarke-Jones and 60-year-old Clyde Aikau, as well as big-wave vets Garrett McNamara, Shane Dorian, Andy Irons, Peter Mel, Michael Ho, Greg Long, Sunny Garcia, and Grant “Twiggy” Baker.

The world’s best hit the huge surf at Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu going for the $98,000 purse at this, the 25th Anniversary event. Held in honor of the legendary Hawaiian waterman, Eddie Aikau, The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau is the world's longest running and most prestigious big-wave invitational.

On December 8, coming to conclusion with a dramatic finale as underdog Greg Long comes out of nowhere and steals the win from 9-time World Champ Kelly Slater.

Sloppy day for a final

Fanning has won the Rip Curl Pro Search and is now showing he will be the man to beat at the North Shore event. Bede was amazing against Parko but couldn't do much against Mick who was in top shape.

Supertubos is going off!!!

Those guys are incredible, they got some elephant balls to drop on some of those waves. It is a shame that Owen Wright got his eardrum blasted because it now lives the door open for Fanning to go straight to the finals.

Kelly lost against De Souza

That's right by 0.07...If you watch Kelly's first wave, there is no question that is worth more than a 7.0. BUT since Kelly is certainly not going to win the title, I wish Parko could keep the advantage. We will see at Supertubos what Parko and Fanning can do.

Mick Fanning is getting closer of N1 spot

Mick is the fastest surfer out there, actually I saw him surfing at my old break, Ponto at Carlsbad and it seriously makes you wonder what you are doing wrong as he goes 10 faster than anybody out there..
